| Tools and Tactics Semi-Annual Meetings:
One and one-half day executive sessions are held each winter and summer to discuss common
problems and exchange ideas. Agendas for each meeting reflect the topics of most timely
interest to members and may include visits to member offices, distribution centers or
customer facilities. Both sessions combine business and leisure with ample opportunity for
informal socializing.
Management Report:
A monthly compilation of member responses to questions that provide guidance in
everyday marketing decisions and an update on management operational policies and
procedures. The report serves as an exchange of information between members and provides
an opportunity for individual questions or problems to be submitted within the group.
Cost of Business Report:
Percentage outlays for staff compensation, sales expense, autos, office, computers,
travel and entertainment, business insurance, medical insurance, taxes, and other
day-to-day operating expenses are collected annually from member firms. Composite reports
show high, low, and average outlays of member firms and provide a meaningful basis for
comparison of member operations.
Listing of Principals:
Members regularly exchange information on available lines and serve as reference for
each other with prospective principals. A confidential master list of lines represented by
members is maintained to aid members seeking a particular line for sales coverage.
Trade Relations & Promotion:
Active liaison is maintained with the various organizations of paper, plastics and
packaging manufacturers, distributors and end users (NPTA, MRA, etc.). Every opportunity
is utilized to promote and encourage greater understanding and acceptance of independent
multiple-line sales representatives in our common industries. PPRMC is a member of the
Alliance of Manufacturers Representatives Associations (AMRA) and a sponsoring rep
association member of the Manufacturers Representatives Educational Research Foundation
(MRERF). |
